Types of Injection Molding Services
Utilizing scientific injection molding principles, Omega offers a comprehensive array of plastic injection molding services. From production quality prototyping through full volume production runs, Omega commits the same level of support and collaboration to each and every customer and project.
Capacity & Capabilities:
Omega strategically plans capacity knowing that quick access to a molding machine is critical to our customers ability to get into production. Over 20 molding machines are properly maintained and scheduled with the aid of our ERP/MRP system, Epicore. Epicor ERP is our fully integrated ERP solution which we utilize for our inventory control, pre-production materials planning, and manufacturing execution (MES). This, along with the ability to quickly add shifts, gives you assurance that Omega will be able to meet your molding needs. Omega’s injection molding press capabilities cover a range from 20-ton to 1100-ton clamping forces.
Omega Plastics is a certified RJG Mold Tryout shop. Utilizing RJG pressure transducers and eDART monitoring equipment, we have the ability to document the optimized injection molding process developed. Omega Plastics currently has both Master Molder 1 & Master Molder 2 molding technicians on staff.
Expert Injection Molding Services from Omega Plastics:
- Class 8 (100K) Cleanroom molding & Assembly:
Omega provides over 3500 square feet of ISO Class 8 (100K) clean-room space for your particulate critical product development or production molding projects. We provide certified clean room components and assemblies in low to medium volume quantities enabling you to shorten your time to critical trial dates.
- Insert & Over-molding:
Utilizing both horizontal and vertical injection molding presses, we can provide you Insert Molding services - placing metal terminals, threaded inserts, or other non-plastic items into the mold and then injecting plastic around them so that they become permanently fixed in the plastic part.
Overmolding– Omega specializes in injecting one thermoplastic resin onto another similar or dissimilar thermoplastic material- this process is often used for providing "soft touch" or multiple colors and textures on molded parts.
- High-Temperature Molding & Resin Trials:
Your team at Omega has experience molding a wide range of engineered resins:
With significant expertise in high temperature molding projects, our tooling engineers and molding technicians have the knowledge and expertise to provide you with highly successful project outcomes. Omega Plastics’ has experience with most commercially available high temperature resins such as PEEK (Victrex), PEI (Ultem), PPSU (Raydel), and a number of other engineered, hi-temperature resins.
